Oh To Be A Bumble Bee

Hello lovelies,I hope that you are all well and enjoying your weekend, the weather is ill horrid here, I hope it's better where you are, as it's so miserable I thought that today I would make a spring  card to remind me what sunshine looks like lol.

To make this card I have used Spellbinders grand dies for the card base, papers from Melody Ross, Graphics 45 and an old magazine freebie (sorry can't remember which one it was from). The image is a stamp from Penny Black that I just fell in love with and I have coloured it with polychromos pencils. The die cut frame is from Spellbinders and the butterfly and flourish are from Marianne Design. I have then used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, gems, lace, ribbon and a little tag embellishment to decorate, finally I doodled in stitching detail with a fine liner pen.

I would like to enter my card in to the following challenges,

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - May Challenge - Anything Goes
Kraftyhands Challenge Blog - May Challenge - Flower Frenzy

Rainy Day Blues

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend. I had a great day yesterday in Eastbourne but to say I am knackered now is an understatement lol, I have only had 6 hours sleep in the last two days and my sciatica did not like being in the car for so long. The weather was absolutely gorgeous there yesterday and it really felt like spring, unlike the weather here today which is gray, cold and miserable lol.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in with my little competition yesterday it was very  interesting to read your answers and I think some of you know me very well lol, so without futrher ado the winner was the lovely Andre  please contact me with your address hun and I will get your crafty  prize in the post to you. I have also decided to send Rachel  a small prize as well as Rachel came in third place but she was the only person not to get a single incorrect item which I thought was pretty impressive.

I did manage to make one card in the car yesterday using a House Mouse stamp and Graph'it markers to colour, it's not my best colouring though as this was a difficult image to colour in the card, thank heavens for being able to blend the colours back lol. The papers I have used are an old magazine freebie by hot off the press, one from Crafters Companion Fairyopolis paper pack and one from Docrafts Wellington paper pack. The die cuts I have used are all from Marianne Design, I have put together two frames and two small flourishes behind the image and then used two bigger flourishes in the corners of  the card. I have then used lace, ribbon, flowers and gems to decorate.

I would like to enter my card in to the following challenges,

Clear It Out Challenge Blog - Theme: Anything Goes ~ Stash : Use Two Or More Patterned Papers
Totally Gojuss - Challenge 183 - Bingo (lace,ribbon,flowers)
House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge  - HMFMC 144 - How Do You Interpret Feeling Blue
Marianne Design Divas  - Get Your Dies Out
Oldie But A Goodie  - Inspired By A Song (singing in the rain was my song choice and the papers are all over 6 months old)
Inky Chicks  - Challenge#4 - Blue & Brown
Southern Girls Challenge - Going Spotty Dot
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog   - Simon Says Flower Power
Delightful Challenges - Weekly Challenges - Bingo (patterned paper, die cuts, flowers)
Charisma Cardz Challenges - Challenge 19 - No Digi's Allowed

And just before I go here are some pictures I took yesterday, the first one is one I took at the place where we stop for coffee on the way to Eastbourne and the others were taken at Eastbourne harbor.

It's Competition Time

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well, hopefully this will post when I am well on my way to Eastbourne.

As I wont be around today I decided to run a little competition, those of you who have been following me for a while will know that on long journeys I always take a bag of crafty bits and make cards in the car so I thought it would be appropriate to put a little crafty twist on the old car game I Packed My Bag & In It I Put..... the old game is a memory game but that wouldn't work in this situation so I am going to make it in to a guessing game.

What I want you to do is leave a comment on this post before 9am Friday  17th May and tell me what crafty goodies you think I have put in my bag. For each correct item that you guess you will be awarded a point and for each incorrect item that you guess a point will be removed. The person with the most  points will win a crafty prize, there's a couple of good craft shops near my brother so I will find something nice for the winner.

You might want to bear in mind that when it comes to craft I don't travel light and being specific could help you as for example if you guess something broad like embellishments you would most likely get a point but if you guess the type of embellishments you may be able to get yourself more points (obviously I don't mean specific as in brand names etc just the type).

The competition is open to everyone.

Competition is now closed.

Ok I do have a card to show you, it's made using a grand Spellbinders die for the card base, all the stamps are Visible Image stamps and Distress Inks with water and then I have just decorated with some ribbon that I curled, a charm and some gems. Please do hop over to Visible Images Challenge Blog as they do fabby challenges and their stamps are awesome plus you don't need to have their stamps to enter you just need to use a rubber stamp (any make).

I would  like to enter my card in to the following challenges, (I will link up when I get home)

Cards Galore Challenge Blog - May Challenge - A Tim Holtz Homage
Crafty Bloggers Network - May Challenge - O's & X's (ribbon,, stamps, gems)
Sweet Stampin  - Clean & Simple (I hope this is ok, I know there isn't much white showing through but I tried to keep it fairly simple)
A & T Challenge Blog - Challenge #24 - Bling
Craft-Room Challenge - Stamp Your Own Background/Background Paper
Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog - Add A Charm
Visible Image Challenge Blog  - May Challenge - Brighten Your Day

Thank you for reading this post, as always I love to read your comments and I hope you will all join in with my little competition.

Celebrate

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well and having a good week, it's really flying by again isn't it. I won't be around tomorrow as I have to go to Eastbourne to visit my little brother (who is not  really so little at 28 lol) but I will be taking my bag of crafty bits and attempting to make cards in the car again. I will also have a scheduled post for tomorrow with a crafty game of  "I Packed My Bag & In It I Put......." and a chance to win yourself a crafty prize so please do hop over tomorrow and check that out.

Today's card is made for several challenges made using a Magnolia stamp, Graph'it Markers to colour, I have used Muslin and Distress Inks and papers from K & Co and Melody Ross. The die cut frames are from Spellbinders, the small scalloped heart is from Sizzix and the tags and flourishes are from Marianne Design dies. The lettering is from a KaiserKraft paper and I have then decorated with flowers and wooden flourishes from my stash and added ribbons to the tags which I then melted with my heat gun to make then go all twisty.

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well and having a good start to the week.

Today I have a card I made for a few challenges and a tutorial video on using Graph'it Markers for you, the video is quite long so you might want to grab a cuppa before you start watching it.

To make my card I have a stamp from Penny Black drawn by Mo Manning which I have coloured with Graph'it  Markers . I have then layered it on to muslin and glittered papers from Poundland and DCWV  and decorated with, lace, ribbon, one of my handmade pins, flowers, die cuts from Memory Box and embroidered butterflies.

Blogger is refusing to acknowledge the presence of my you tube videos at the moment so here is  the link  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amHq99mZVGM you may  want to grab a cuppa  before watching as it's  quite long.

PanPastel Challenge Blog - Challenge #19 - In The Pink

Hi  lovelies, I hope that you are all well and having  a nice Sunday morning, it's time for a new challenge to begin over at the PanPastel Challenge Blog and this week our theme is In The Pink. As usual the prize will  be a  fab PanPastel starter kit provided by our regular sponsor Your Creativity Store.

Over at the PanPastel Challenge Blog we are quite happy to see all sorts of projects like altered art, journaling and upcycling as well as cards & tags and you don't even need to use PanPastels on your entry so everyone can join in even if you don't have any yet.

This weeks make was inspired by my good friend Sylvia who made an awesome dress from and top hat in a steampunk style (hers is far better than mine and you can see it by clicking on her name) but I thought it would be good to have a go at. I began with one of those jellewery stands with the wires in the top, yanked out the wires and covered the whole thing with MaiMeri Gesso and then mixed Magenta PanPastels with MaiMeri Iridescent Medium and painted the whole thing with it. I then cut out some wavy strips of white cotton and coloured them with Magenta and Magenta Tint PanPastels  to get the fabulous tie die effect that the pans do so well, I stuck them in to place with some lace and ribbon and made a layered bow for the back. I then made the hat from cardboard, painted it with Magenta PanPastels with MaiMeri Iridescent Medium and trimmed  with ribbon and lace.
