I am really pleased with today's card, I coloured in the image with my Derwent pencils that I bought a few weeks back and I am so pleased with how it turned out, also I think the torn papers are here to stay.
The dies I used for this card are memory box dies that I brought from The Stamp Basket and I just wanted to say how excellent their customer service was, when I ordered them the dies weren't actually in stock, they were pre-order, I received the standard automated email from them straight away after purchase but with in 5 minutes had also received an email from Janet the store owner to tell me when they would be in stock and when they would be posted out to me. I also received emails when they arrived in stock and when they were dispatched and they arrived in about 4 days which is actually quicker than a lot of sites when I have ordered things that were in stock. Janet the owner of The Stamp Basket is a lovely lady and the customer service from her was exceptional and look how pretty the dies were too. Sorry for rambling on a little but these days online stores with that level of customer service are few and far between and I really appreciate it when people take the time to let me know what is happening with my order so I thought I would write about it.
To make my card I have used an 8"x8" card base, some more of the hand made papers with the pressed petals in them, I am just loving these for spring cards, I have used a piece of velvet material and two pieces of silk from a bag of material scraps that I picked up in a local charity shop. My image is a House Mouse stamp which I have coloured in using Derwent pencils and the flourishes and corner flourishes were cut out using the Memory Box dies I bought from the The Stamp Basket. I then used a few pearls to decorate the corners.

This is just lovely Lindsay, a great combination of distressed edges (I'm hooked on the as well) and beautifully coloured.
See you are using Derwent pencils as well, hubby bought me a lovely set a few weeks ago and I too am liking the results they give.
