My First Ever Criss Cross Card

Hi again everyone this is my third post today please scroll down to see my posts for the PanPastel Challenge Blog and Here Come The Boys Challenge Blog. I promise this will be my last post for today I wouldn't want you to get tired of me rambling on and I think 3 in one day is my limit anyway lol at least the other two were scheduled so I didn't have to write them all this  morning. I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday and getting some sunshine its a bit patchy here today, one minute it's lovely the next it is raining. I am a little better again today, still slow going but in much less pain.

The card that I want to show you in this post is my first ever attempt at making a criss cross card, I made it yesterday and because I wasn't too well it took me forever to make as I had to keep stopping to rest but I think it was worth it.

To make this card I began with an A3 sheet of white card, I measured and cut it down to 14cm x 42cm, I then scored lines at 14cm in from each side from top to bottom (with the card in a landscape position). I then   marked and cut away the excess from the top of the scoreline 14cm from the right hand side to the bottom right hand corner of the card and then repeated the process on the left side as well. I then cut out the smaller panel to go inside from the left over piece of the A3 card and began to decorate.

First I added lace trims to each of the edges, then cut out and embossed white vellum with shiny bits in it using one of the new Beatrix Potter embossing folders from Crafters Companion. I used a quickie glue pen and white glitter to highlight the embossing. Next I added some flourishes cut out using Marianne's Design Dies and some white paper flowers and tiny pearls, the central flower is just three of the other ones put together and glued in place. The image is Lilyrose the dragon from Magnolia (one of my favorite stamps at the moment) and she is coloured in using Flex Markers and Promarkers.

I have to say I think white on white cards are little bit addictive, I make one and then it reminds me how pretty they look and I want to make another lol.

I would like to enter this card in to the following challenges,

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge - TOMIC #45 - Criss Cross Card + Prince's & Princesses (I hope Lilyrose is ok for this, she is only one I have from the Prince's & Princesses collection so far)
Charisma Cardz Challenges - Challenge #14 - Fancy Folds
Just Magnolia & Hanglar & Stanglar Challenge Blog - Week 152 - Lovely Lace & DT Call
Little Darlings Challenges - Challenge 21 - Pastels
I Love Promarkers Challenge Blog - Challenge #112 - White On White

Just before I go since several of you seemed to enjoy the little stories about my cat yesterday I thought I would share this picture that I took of him this morning, how dare there be sunlight when he is trying to sleep! lol.

Thank you for reading this post, as always I love to read your comments.

Lindsay wonderful card. From a distance it looks simple white but embosing you probably took some time. Many wonderful details, truly beautiful lace and of course beautifully colored dragon. Your cat is really something special. Have a nice week. Lily
